About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Contribute to product discovery and delivery with product management, UX, and engineers
- Understand customer problems, explore solutions, and assess technical feasibility
- Write, review, and troubleshoot production code
- Guide technical design decisions and apply architectural patterns and development principles
- Address maintainability, reliability, security, and operational needs
- Break complex work into increments, coordinate dependencies, and manage technical risks
- Strengthen testing, code review, release validation, CI/CD, and automation practices
- Guide responsible AI-assisted and agentic development workflows
- Establish measures and track software quality, reliability, delivery, and customer outcomes
- Collaborate with Restore engineering leaders on technical direction, standards, incident learnings, build-versus-buy decisions, and technical debt
- Lead engineering initiatives and coordinate adoption across teams
- Participate in on-call rotation and incident investigation, mitigation, and resolution
- Provide code reviews, mentoring, and technical guidance to other engineers
Requirements
What you’ll need- A four-year bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field with 7+ years of related experience
- Experience leading complex, hands-on engineering work within collaborative product teams, from discovery through delivery and operation
- Strong technical judgment and problem-solving skills, including evaluating design options, explaining tradeoffs, and managing technical risks
- Experience improving engineering practices and helping engineers apply them effectively
- Practical judgment using AI-assisted development tools, verifying their work, and recognizing when human intervention is required
- Experience using data to assess technical decisions and improvements, or demonstrated analytical judgment with commitment to developing these practices
- Clear communication, effective collaboration, and ability to work independently within agreed priorities
- Accountability for contributions and team outcomes
- Strong experience building and operating production applications across the stack
- Working proficiency in technologies needed across web, backend, and mobile applications
- Experience with Angular, .NET, GraphQL, React Native, Expo, AWS, MongoDB, and PostgreSQL preferred
- Willingness to learn the company’s technology stack
