About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Define experience strategy and design end-to-end flows across a product area
- Apply accessibility and usability standards and advocate for inclusive design
- Collaborate with PMs and Engineers to shape product direction and prioritize design efforts
- Conduct and lead usability testing and incorporate findings into strategic design iterations
- Mentor designers across pods and contribute to design standards and team rituals
- Design solutions to unfamiliar problems using appropriate UX processes and tools
- Communicate with customers, stakeholders, and team members to achieve project goals
- Advocate for design and engineering best practices to deliver modern and performant experiences
- Develop proficiency with the assigned product’s feature set and common customer workflows
- Work autonomously and identify areas of opportunity within the assigned product
- Maintain visual and UX patterns in the design system and product
- Provide design feedback and mentorship to other designers
- Coordinate usability studies across projects and product features
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree, certificate, or equivalent training in user experience design or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in user experience design or a related field
- Experience providing design feedback or informal mentorship to other designers
- Portfolio demonstrating strong UX skills and judgment, including end-to-end ownership of complex or ambiguous problems
- Proficiency with Figma, Sketch, Adobe CC, UserZoom, UserTesting.com, or Maze
- Deep proficiency in prototypes, wireframes, high-fidelity mockups, information architecture, process flows, and user flows
- Ability to independently plan and drive customer research
- Leadership in interactive design processes across cross-functional teams
- Experience owning and evolving reusable UX components or design system libraries
- Understanding of current mobile, web, and desktop technologies
- Experience owning end-to-end UX strategy for a product area with minimal oversight
- Ability to design scalable, coherent experiences across products
- Ability to build consensus and drive clarity in ambiguous design decisions
- Ability to frame design decisions for executive and non-design audiences
- Collaborative, self-starter mindset with strong partnership skills
- Ability to simplify complex information and find creative solutions
- Fluency engaging with quantitative and qualitative data at scale
