About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Analyze revenue drivers at each Partner Hospital, including case volume, average invoice value, new patient counts, referral volume and specialty service mix.
- Track referral trends by referring veterinarian and service line, identifying growth opportunities and declining referral sources.
- Measure doctor and service line productivity and model the revenue impact of adding doctors or extending specialty hours.
- Evaluate pricing performance, discounts, write-offs and uncollected balances.
- Monitor charge capture and estimate-to-invoice variance to improve billing accuracy.
- Model revenue potential of new service lines and added capacity.
- Lead monthly hospital profit and loss reviews, explain variances and agree on corrective actions.
- Analyze labor costs, pharmacy and medical supply costs, diagnostics, inventory, purchasing compliance and waste.
- Build hospital-level EBITDA bridges and develop improvement plans with measurable targets.
- Lead annual budgets and maintain monthly hospital-level forecasts that roll up to the enterprise forecast.
- Project doctor compensation expense and hospital margin impacts.
- Prepare ROI analyses for capital requests and complete post-investment reviews.
- Build and maintain hospital KPI dashboards and monthly reporting packages.
- Reconcile practice management system data, general ledger results and operating metrics with Accounting and data teams.
- Provide hospital-level analysis for board, sponsor and acquisition reporting, including post-integration results.
- Benchmark hospital performance against internal and veterinary industry data.
- Lead, coach and develop financial analysts.
- Help hospital leaders interpret and use financial reports.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics or a related field.
- Minimum seven years of financial planning and analysis or operational finance experience, including at least three years leading analysts or a planning function.
- Demonstrated experience building budgets, forecasts and profit and loss analysis for a multi-site organization.
- Advanced financial modeling and data analysis skills, including experience with business intelligence tools such as Power BI, Tableau or equivalent.
- Proven ability to explain financial results to operational and clinical leaders and influence decisions that improve revenue and margin.
- Strong attention to detail and a disciplined approach to data accuracy.
- Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S.
- All current positions require the ability to speak, read, and write English proficiently.
- Preferred: MBA or CPA.
- Preferred: Experience in veterinary medicine, human healthcare or another multi-site organization with 24-hour operations.
- Preferred: Familiarity with veterinary revenue drivers, including referral-based specialty care, emergency case flow and doctor production compensation.
- Preferred: Experience with veterinary practice management systems, such as ezyVet, and financial planning software, such as Adaptive Insights, Anaplan or equivalent.
- Preferred: Experience in a private equity-backed organization.
