About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Handle strategic commercial and civil litigation and arbitration matters, with autonomy over an assigned client portfolio and direct client contact
- Draft highly complex legal submissions, including extraordinary appeals, and conduct oral arguments
- Define litigation strategy with the practice group partners
- Mentor and train junior attorneys, trainees, and interns
- Participate in new-client origination and the preparation of fee proposals, with profit-sharing participation
- Represent the firm at events, in publications, and before industry associations
- Handle highly complex disputes for clients across a range of economic sectors, with recurring appearances before higher courts and the country’s leading arbitration chambers
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Law and active registration with the Brazilian Bar Association (OAB)
- 8 to 15 years of experience in strategic civil and commercial litigation, with autonomous management of a client portfolio
- Established experience before higher courts or in arbitration proceedings
- Technical expertise aligned with complex litigation and arbitration matters
- Postgraduate degree, Master’s degree, or Ph.D. in Civil Procedure, Civil Law, Commercial Law, or Arbitration (preferred)
