About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Own projects from order handover through technical and commercial handover (TOC)
- Manage project budget, schedule, risk, and scope
- Serve as the customer's single point of contact throughout the project
- Provide functional leadership to the core project team
- Apply technical judgment to challenge assumptions and drive timely decisions
- Attend key milestones including project kick-off, construction start, mechanical and electrical completion, commissioning start, performance run, and handover
- Attend key suppliers for factory acceptance testing (FAT) of critical components
- Run weekly syncs, shared task-board management, short-term planning, and progress visualization
- Integrate Technical Engineering, Process Engineering, Procurement, Manufacturing, Installation, and Commissioning contributions into one project
- Prepare a brief project portfolio describing a project taken from initial phase through execution and final handover
Requirements
What you’ll need- Professional experience in international plant or equipment engineering (Anlagenbau), ideally with process or industrial equipment
- Hands-on, practical experience on a shop floor or construction site; practical experience is weighted over theoretical credentials
- Mechanical engineering background as a Techniker (completed apprenticeship plus Techniker) or comparable practical qualification (Bachelor's / FH degree)
- Experience in vessel and plant construction (Anlagen- und Behälterbau), including manufacturing methods and welding processes
- Project management capability, including ownership of budget, schedule, and risk, with a technical focus
- Business-fluent English; German is a plus, not a requirement
- Willingness to travel internationally, including assignments of around two weeks at a time
- Ability to lead a team using lightweight agile practices such as task boards, short review cycles, and rolling planning
- Professional or Senior level experience
