About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Focused on negotiating settlements in employment litigation at various stages of proceedings.
- Reviewing the case portfolio to identify settlement opportunities.
- Direct contact and negotiation with attorneys representing the claimant.
- Conducting negotiations within the parameters and authority levels previously established by the client.
- Drafting and formalizing settlement proposals, drafts, and agreements.
- Following negotiations through to effective formalization and court approval.
- Updating internal and client systems, ensuring that negotiations and outcomes are properly recorded.
- Preparing and monitoring settlement controls and reports.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Previous experience in employment law, preferably representing defendants/respondents.
- Experience negotiating and formalizing employment-law settlements.
- Knowledge of litigation stages and the ability to assess risks and settlement opportunities.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills, with a conciliatory approach.
- Organized, self-directed, proactive, and results-oriented profile.
- Ability to manage a high volume of negotiations and multiple demands simultaneously.
- Bachelor's degree in Law or equivalent legal education.
- Active registration with the São Paulo State Bar Association (OAB/SP).
- Experience with high-volume litigation.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills.
- Reliable attendance and excellent client-service skills.
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Solid knowledge of employment litigation and procedure.
- Experience drafting legal pleadings and analyzing spreadsheets.
