About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Serve as an integral member of VF’s Cloud Platform Engineering team
Drive and guide cloud adoption across the organization
Develop and deliver the Continuous Infrastructure Automation platform across multiple cloud platforms
Provide consultative technical guidance, standards, processes, and tools to application teams
Build CIA process automation and tooling for infrastructure provisioning and configuration guardrails
Develop tools, scripts, and frameworks for automation, monitoring, and management of large-scale environments
Build declarative provisioning and configuration templates for self-service provisioning
Build governance, compliance, and security-as-code templates
Design and build automated multi-cloud deployment frameworks using CI/CD
Architect, design, and build VF’s Kubernetes containerization platforms
Act as the organization’s change agent for cloud and on-premise containerization
Manage source code and build artifacts for the Continuous Infrastructure Automation platform
Implement, manage, and support multi-cloud platform tools, including CI/CD, SCM, artifact repositories, monitoring, observability, cost management, governance, and compliance tools
Mentor team members and coworkers on cloud best practices and containerization principles
Serve as a cloud infrastructure subject matter expert researching, implementing, and communicating infrastructure-as-code solutions

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems or equivalent experience in cloud platform engineering
At least 5 years’ experience designing, implementing and supporting cloud-based infrastructure and platform services including AWS and Azure
Extensive experience with public cloud offerings such as Amazon Web Services and Microsoft Azure
Ability to champion a DevOps culture
Ability to iterate quickly in an agile development process
Experience in CI/CD automation
Experience building infrastructure automation using Terraform, Packer, Ansible, or similar tools
Experience with Cloud Native engineering, including Kubernetes, containers, Docker, and serverless technologies
Experience with test-driven development frameworks for application and infrastructure code
In-depth network and system engineering experience including DNS, ADFS, HTTPS, firewalls, and L7 routing
Strong organizational and time management skills
Strong knowledge of ITIL, SDLC, DevOps, and agile processes and practices
Experience following enterprise change and release management processes
Broad knowledge of SRE frameworks for monitoring golden signals and applicable tools
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
Ability to participate in on-call rotations and extended work hours
Ability to travel by air and overnight approximately 10% of the time
Ability to sit for prolonged periods and lift, carry, push, or pull more than 20 lbs.
