About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Serve as the subject matter expert turning artificial intelligence capability into working solutions for Enterprise FP&A
Partner with the VP, Enterprise FP&A, to execute AI projects from requirements through prototype, deployment, and adoption
Translate FP&A business problems into solution requirements, scope, and success measures
Partner with Digital Technology on architecture, data access, integration, security review, and production support
Manage project workstreams across planning, forecasting, variance analysis, management reporting, and business partnering
Provide status updates on progress, risks, dependencies, and required decisions
Measure realized results and recommend solution extensions, adjustments, or retirement
Design and build prototypes for AI-assisted analysis, narrative generation, document and data extraction, and agentic workflows
Test and validate AI outputs, maintain prompt libraries and reusable components, and troubleshoot deployed solutions
Build AI literacy through training, office hours, playbooks, demonstrations, and hands-on coaching
Cultivate champions and power users across brands and regions and drive adoption of deployed solutions
Communicate wins, lessons learned, and guidance to finance leadership and teams
Ensure compliance with VF AI usage standards, information security requirements, internal controls, human-in-the-loop protocols, and audit documentation
Surface AI-related risks and partner on data quality, structure, access, and remediation

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related field preferred
Seven or more years of progressive experience in FP&A, finance transformation, finance systems, or analytics
Demonstrated depth in leveraging technology, specifically AI, to improve processes
Strong working knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, long range planning, and management reporting
Hands-on experience with generative AI, including prompt engineering, retrieval-augmented approaches, and agentic or automated workflows
Track record taking an AI or automation use case from concept through deployment and measurable adoption
Proven project management skills and ability to manage multiple concurrent workstreams to committed timelines
Proficiency with Excel, SQL, Power BI, or Python
Familiarity with SAP, Oracle, OneStream, or Anaplan
Ability to teach, coach, and build capability in others
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Ability to influence and drive change without formal authority across a global, cross-functional environment
Intellectual curiosity, sound judgment about AI use, and comfort operating in a rapidly evolving space
Working knowledge of the outdoor, apparel, or consumer products industry preferred
Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 20% of time
