About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide strategic financial leadership supporting Vibrant Health’s mission, sustainability, operational performance, and growth as an FQHC
- Lead timely, accurate, and actionable financial reporting, including budgets, forecasts, financial trends, cash-flow projections, and KPIs
- Direct and oversee Finance and Accounting functions
- Provide executive oversight of revenue-cycle performance, including billing, coding, claims, denials, collections, reimbursement accuracy, payer credentialing, and patient financial processes
- Analyze and oversee payer reimbursement, Medicaid and Medicare payment models, FQHC reimbursement requirements, 340B performance, and other funding mechanisms
- Evaluate long-range planning, new programs and strategies, and regulatory actions
- Advise executive management on the financial implications of business activities
- Manage financial forecasting, budgeting, and consolidation processes
- Recommend strategies to enhance financial performance and business opportunities
- Prepare and maintain the organization’s cash plan and manage banking and credit relationships
- Oversee investments in software systems, operational alternatives, and site placement or expansion
- Monitor grants and regulatory matters, recommend actions to maximize funding, and maintain compliance
- Implement internal financial and operational audit systems and coordinate external audits
- Coordinate with Human Resources on insurance administration and cost practices
- Review departmental performance and ensure compliance with governmental fiscal reporting and tax requirements
- Serve as primary financial advisor to the CEO, Board of Directors, and Finance Committee
- Pursue financial activities with the CEO to expand the clinic and secure nonprofit funding
- Supervise the Director of Finance, Manager of Revenue Cycle, Director of Pharmacy, and Director of Human Resources and Employee Relations
- Perform other executive-level responsibilities supporting organizational effectiveness and Vibrant Health’s mission
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field required
- Minimum of 7–10 years of progressive financial leadership experience, including healthcare, nonprofit, community health, or similarly complex reimbursement experience
- Experience with grant accounting, revenue cycle oversight, Medicaid and Medicare reimbursement, 340B program financial oversight, cost reporting, and/or HRSA compliance
- Highly competent technology skills on a variety of platforms
- Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, creative, organizational, multitasking, and decision-making skills
- Ability to communicate medical information in plain language
- Ability to work independently and within a team
- Ability to recognize and appreciate cultural diversity and demonstrate social and cultural sensitivity
- Experience and working knowledge of local community resources
- Current driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Ability to travel throughout the facility and community
- Employment contingent upon successful criminal, Kansas and Missouri child/elder abuse and neglect, and sex offender background investigations
- Employment contingent upon TB testing and pre-employment drug testing
- Verification of Hepatitis-B vaccination
- Occasional evening and weekend availability required
- Preferred: bilingual in English and Spanish
- Preferred: CPA, MBA, MHA, or relevant master’s degree
- Preferred: Federally Qualified Health Center experience
- Preferred: Electronic Medical Records (EMR) experience
- Preferred: familiarity with dental terminology
