About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Conduct compliance monitoring activities and inspections authorised under the Australian Consumer Law, Fair Trading Act and other CAV-administered legislation
- Lead State-wide Inspection Program compliance checks and respond to regional intelligence
- Undertake complex inspections involving previous compliance breaches or specific complaints
- Conduct residential tenancy investigations, including rental assessments and non-urgent repairs
- Perform front-line dispute resolution
- Provide business and community education
- Lead or coordinate CAV campaign initiatives
- Mentor CAV staff and support workforce planning and implementation
- Assist the Area Manager with planning, coordination and development of compliance activities
- Manage compliance and education programs under limited direction
- Prepare investigations, inspection reports, briefs of evidence, statements, affidavits, infringement notices and management correspondence
- Monitor operational activities and provide recommendations on compliance programs
- Develop communication and consultation strategies
- Maintain relationships with community agencies, local councils, businesses and community groups
- Provide advice and guidance to VPS3 Inspectors
- Work at remote locations within Victoria or other areas as required
Requirements
What you’ll need- Tertiary qualifications in commerce, business, law or other related fields are desirable
- Current Victorian Driver’s Licence
- Relevant rights to work in Australia
- For an ongoing role, Australian/New Zealand citizenship or Australian Permanent Residency
- Successful candidates subject to a National Police Check
- Ability to work at remote locations within the State or in other Areas, including possible overnight stays
- Ability to conduct compliance inspections and investigations under relevant legislation
- Ability to prepare reports, briefs of evidence, written statements and affidavits
- Ability to provide dispute resolution, education, mentoring and leadership
- Ability to demonstrate Victorian Public sector values
