About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead IT projects from initiation and planning through delivery, implementation, transition, and closure
  • Define project scope, objectives, deliverables, milestones, success measures, and governance with stakeholders
  • Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, budgets, resource forecasts, RAID logs, and supporting documentation
  • Coordinate project teams across IT, product, operations, suppliers, and business functions
  • Manage project dependencies, risks, issues, assumptions, and change requests
  • Monitor scope, schedule, cost, quality, and benefits, taking corrective action where required
  • Facilitate project meetings, workshops, planning sessions, and decision-making forums
  • Provide regular project updates to sponsors, senior leaders, delivery teams, and stakeholders
  • Manage stakeholder expectations and build relationships across technical and non-technical teams
  • Oversee procurement and supplier engagement, including deliverables, performance, costs, and contractual dependencies
  • Support requirements gathering and ensure solutions align with business needs, technical standards, security requirements, and operational considerations
  • Coordinate testing, user acceptance, training, communications, deployment, and business readiness activities
  • Plan operational handover and ensure support arrangements, documentation, and ownership are in place before closure
  • Track project benefits and outcomes, capture lessons learned, and identify continuous improvement opportunities
  • Apply appropriate project management methods, controls, and governance according to project complexity and organisational requirements

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Significant experience managing IT projects through the full project lifecycle
  • Proven ability to develop and manage project plans, budgets, schedules, resources, risks, issues, and dependencies
  • Experience coordinating cross-functional teams and delivering technology projects involving multiple stakeholders
  • Strong understanding of project governance, change control, reporting, quality management, and benefits tracking
  • Ability to communicate project status, risks, decisions, and technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Strong stakeholder management, facilitation, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills
  • Excellent organisation, prioritisation, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with attention to detail
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and respond effectively to changing requirements and delivery constraints
  • Working knowledge of IT delivery environments, including software, infrastructure, cloud, cybersecurity, data, or business systems projects
  • Proficiency with project management and collaboration tools, such as Microsoft Project, Jira, Azure DevOps, or equivalent platforms
  • Understanding of information security, data protection, risk management, and change management considerations in IT projects
  • Project management certification such as PRINCE2, APM, PMP, or equivalent qualification is preferred
  • Experience delivering projects using Agile, Scrum, Kanban, Waterfall, or hybrid methodologies is preferred
  • Experience managing cloud migration, infrastructure, systems implementation, software development, cybersecurity, or digital transformation projects is preferred
  • Experience managing external suppliers, consultants, contracts, procurement processes, and service transition is preferred
  • Experience working with project portfolio management, financial tracking, or enterprise project governance processes is preferred
  • Familiarity with IT service management practices, including ITIL, operational readiness, and support handover is preferred
