About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Partner with leaders across technology, marketing, finance, procurement, human resources and operations to support strategic initiatives and drive business objectives
  • Draft, review, negotiate and advise on complex commercial, vendor, services and technology agreements
  • Provide practical, business-focused legal guidance on contract-related matters, risk management and regulatory compliance
  • Lead efforts to enhance Viking’s contracting function through process improvements, technology implementation and operational excellence
  • Collaborate with legal, compliance and business stakeholders to drive process improvements and strengthen companywide contract governance
  • Support implementation of a global contract lifecycle management platform, including governance, workflow design, reporting and user adoption
  • Assist with other legal initiatives as needed

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree
  • Active bar membership in good standing
  • 5+ years of experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial contracts
  • Ability to operate independently, exercise sound business judgment and balance legal risk with practical business objectives
  • Strong experience with commercial and technology agreements
  • Knowledge of contract law, risk assessment and contract management best practices
  • Experience with contract lifecycle management (CLM) or contract management systems preferred
  • Excellent negotiation, communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience developing contract templates and improving legal processes preferred
