About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Coordinate and manage VillageReach’s Nigeria immunization outreach work through context-appropriate cold chain solutions
  • Report to the Nigeria Country Lead and receive technical direction from the Project Lead
  • Coordinate government and project partner engagement, joint planning, follow-up, and cross-country learning
  • Align implementation with national discussions, document decisions, and escalate coordination and technical issues
  • Manage the in-country workplan, timelines, deliverables, field activities, technical inputs, and logistics
  • Provide day-to-day coordination and review of state-based project personnel
  • Manage procurement of Indigo devices with VillageReach colleagues, UNICEF, or the manufacturer
  • Monitor expenditure and delivery risks and recommend adjustments
  • Coordinate assessments and workshops comparing mobile CCE and TPVS options
  • Define immunization outreach archetypes and test planning approaches using geographic and operational data
  • Oversee field testing or structured documentation, equipment deployment readiness, and training support
  • Assess performance, usability, costs, and feasibility of cold chain options
  • Coordinate monitoring, data collection, quality checks, and analysis with technical colleagues
  • Account for operational constraints, community preferences, and gender-related workforce implications
  • Prepare progress reports, evidence summaries, and presentations for government, partners, and project reporting
  • Translate findings into planning guidance, decision trees, comparison matrices, and readiness checklists
  • Coordinate user validation, partner feedback, and refinement of deliverables for technical review
  • Contribute to reliable, efficient, and equitable immunization services for under-reached communities

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Graduate degree (or equivalent experience) in public health, health systems, supply chain management, international development, or a related field required
  • At least five years of relevant experience in immunization, health systems, vaccine supply chains, or public health program implementation
  • Strong experience in vaccine supply chain management, including coordination of equipment procurement or deployment
  • Demonstrated experience working with Nigeria’s NPHCDA, SPHCDAs, and EPI teams across national and state levels
  • Experience in immunization outreach, microplanning, or vaccine logistics
  • Experience coordinating operational assessments, quantitative and qualitative data collection, analysis, and evidence-informed program decisions
  • Experience facilitating technical workshops and developing practical guidance, tools, or implementation resources
  • Experience managing workplans, overseeing field personnel or consultants, and contributing to donor-funded program reporting
  • Strong coordination, organizational, analytical, documentation, written communication, and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to interpret maps and geographic information for planning
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Sound judgment, adaptability, and ability to work independently
  • Demonstrated cultural sensitivity when working with government officials, health workers, communities, and multidisciplinary partners
  • Commitment to equitable access and gender-responsive programming
  • Willingness and ability to be based in Abuja and travel regularly within Nigeria
  • Availability during core collaboration hours between 6am Pacific Time and 18:00 South Africa Time (GMT+1), Monday through Thursday
  • Graduate degree or equivalent experience is required; Hausa proficiency, familiarity with CCE procurement, UNICEF/manufacturer experience, mobile CCE and TPVS knowledge, GIS software, GIS-informed planning, operational costing, and new cold chain technology experience are desirable, preferred, or assets
