About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Define architectural direction for selecting and implementing technology solutions for business units
  • Optimize the quality of the City's services and operations while minimizing risk
  • Participate in project delivery as the technical lead through to implementation
  • Develop and propose approaches for modernizing and replacing legacy technology environments
  • Promote solutions that comply with standards for openness, interoperability, and vendor independence
  • Recommend technology strategies to business units
  • Ensure the viability of functionality and the integrity of the architecture throughout the delivery, operations, and maintenance phases
  • Collaborate on the implementation and integration of commercial solutions and the development of custom solutions
  • Work with Oracle Fusion Cloud, UKG, Tyler iasWorld, Node.js, Angular, MongoDB, TypeScript, Git, Docker, Kubernetes, Airflow, RabbitMQ, Camunda, and Oracle Integration Cloud

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent academic qualification) in computer science or another relevant field
  • Six years of experience in solution architecture, including three years in software architecture
  • Experience designing and developing large-scale applications
  • Experience with systems integration and REST API design
  • Experience with message queue systems (RabbitMQ, ZeroMQ, etc.)
  • Experience working on projects involving DevOps, CI/CD, Agile methodologies, and the SDLC
  • Knowledge of one or more programming languages: TypeScript/JavaScript, Java, C#
  • Knowledge of one or more frameworks: Node.js, Spring, .NET, Angular, React, Vue.js
  • Knowledge of one or more integration tools: Apache Kafka, Apache Airflow, Apache NiFi, Oracle Integration Cloud, Boomi
  • Knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases
  • Candidates must be recommended upon completion of the SPVM security clearance process
