About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide trauma-informed case management and supportive counseling, including needs assessments, individualized service plans, and safety planning
  • Advocate for and support survivors navigating legal, immigration, housing, public benefits, education, healthcare, and other systems
  • Connect survivors with appropriate resources and services through referrals, advocacy, and accompaniment
  • Maintain accurate and timely case notes, reports, and other required documentation while protecting survivor privacy and confidentiality
  • Facilitate bilingual support groups and participate in community outreach and educational workshops as needed
  • Collaborate with VIP staff and external providers
  • Participate in supervision, trainings, case conferences, and program meetings
  • Follow mandated reporting requirements
  • Provide program coverage in Manhattan or Queens as needed

  • Ability to provide trauma-informed counseling, case management, advocacy, and crisis intervention
  • Ability to build trusting relationships and navigate complex systems and challenging situations with compassion and sound judgment
  • Ability to work collaboratively to connect survivors with resources and support
  • Ability to facilitate bilingual support groups
  • Ability to follow mandated reporting requirements
  • Willingness to provide program coverage in Manhattan or Queens as needed
  • Ability to protect survivor privacy and confidentiality
