About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Build reusable analytical models using dbt and BigQuery
Develop and maintain LookML views, Explores, measures, and supporting dashboards
Implement data rearchitecture and Looker Core migration components
Reconcile results against existing systems and validate downstream dependencies
Partner with Analytics, Finance, Growth, Customer Success, and Clinical stakeholders
Translate business questions and edge cases into reusable technical solutions
Implement automated tests for model behavior, relationships, freshness, and business rules
Investigate and resolve data discrepancies and production issues
Optimize SQL, materializations, incremental processing, BigQuery partitioning, and clustering
Improve model structure, documentation, and lineage
Contribute governed datasets and semantic definitions for agents and AI
Support Applied AI with reliable analytical data and interfaces for ML workflows
Own technical scoping through deployment and iteration
Review code, share reusable patterns, and use AI-assisted development tools
Deliver initial improvements, analytical models, migration components, monitoring, and downstream validation during the first 90 days

Requirements

What you’ll need

5+ years of experience in analytics engineering, data engineering, or a related technical role
Track record of shipping and supporting production data solutions
Advanced SQL skills and strong data-modeling judgment
Hands-on experience with dbt, including modular transformations, incremental models, testing, documentation, and dependency management
Experience developing LookML views, Explores, dimensions, and measures
Experience with BigQuery or a comparable cloud data warehouse
Strong software engineering practices, including version control, code review, automated testing, and controlled deployments
Working proficiency in Python or Go
Ability to translate ambiguous business requirements into reusable technical solutions
Strong debugging skills across source systems, transformation pipelines, and BI tools
Practical experience using AI-assisted development tools
Must follow security and privacy procedures for sensitive patient information governed by HIPAA
Legally authorized to work in the United States
