About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead the strategy, development, and execution of real-world evidence programs and health economics models
- Translate real-world data from health plans, employers, and external data warehouses into operational and health economic insights
- Generate evidence to drive commercial growth, market adoption, and product innovation
- Publish findings in peer-reviewed scientific journals
- Present scientific evidence at national and international conferences, client presentations, and internal meetings
- Partner with sales, marketing, and product teams to integrate real-world evidence into commercial messaging, clinical care, and product development
- Serve as an internal subject matter expert
- Teach HEOR methodologies to colleagues and advance organizational research capabilities
- Onboard with Clinical Research and Data Science teams and learn Virta’s data pipeline and evidence base
- Review research compliance and privacy protocols
- Own a claims dataset analysis project and align evidence needs with Sales and Marketing
- Draft an updated HEOR strategy roadmap
- Complete initial real-world evidence analyses and begin a peer-reviewed publication or conference submission
- Establish repeatable, AI-enabled workflows for research and reporting tasks
Requirements
What you’ll need- Master’s degree or equivalent in Health Economics, Public Health, Pharmacoeconomics, or a related field; PhD preferred
- 5+ years of experience analyzing claims/clinical datasets, publishing in peer-reviewed journals, and presenting economic outcomes of clinical programs
- 3+ years of business experience in a startup or high-growth environment
- Proven ability to translate scientific evidence for commercial and marketplace applications
- Proficiency in SQL, Python, R, or SAS for advanced claims analysis and data modeling
- Successfully designed and implemented repeatable AI-enabled workflows that address team bottlenecks and improve efficiency
- Ability to follow HIPAA security and privacy procedures and keep patient information confidential
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
- Must not require employment visa sponsorship, based on the application questions
