Key responsibilities & impact

Lead projects end to end from ambiguous stakeholder problems through design, review, production, and ownership
Build and extend Go services supporting quote-to-cash processes, including contract and pricing configuration, billable event generation, subscription and invoice management, and claims submission
Expand assertion and reconciliation frameworks across Salesforce, Zuora, and clinical data
Improve reconciliation and billing data used by health plan and employer partners
Design self-service tools for finance, RCM, and client operations to configure contracts, correct data, and run bulk changes
Apply AI where appropriate
Conduct design and code reviews and mentor engineers
Within 30 days, merge and deploy a production PR, understand the money path, and identify an issue
Within 60 days, produce a TDD that survives architecture review and collaborate with stakeholders on a future-looking project
Within 90 days, own an ambiguous problem through completion and improve another engineer’s design through review

Requirements

What you’ll need

5+ years building and operating backend services in production, in Go or another statically typed language
Experience with event-driven architectures, eventual consistency, ordering, idempotency, and systems that disagree with each other
Strong SQL and comfort working across application code and the analytics layer
Experience owning systems where correctness has consequences outside the company, such as billing, payments, claims, ledgers, or regulated reporting
Experience working directly with non-engineering stakeholders to turn finance or operations problems into designs and explain tradeoffs
Experience with a major cloud platform; Virta uses GCP
Experience working with AI to accelerate development workflows and enhance the SDLC
Experience in frontend development with React and TypeScript
Ability to handle sensitive patient information under HIPAA and follow security and privacy procedures
Legally authorized to work in the United States
Must disclose familial relationships with current Virta employees
