About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Assist and support teachers in carrying out educational programs and lessons for English Language Learners
Assist students with technology and computer-based learning programs
Support students and teachers with academic requirements and grade-appropriate work
Provide small-group instruction and one-to-one academic, social-skills, and character-education support
Participate in required training, including Safe Schools training
Follow school safety plans, rules, and guidelines
Assist teachers with lesson assessments
Help students with projects and assignments, including accommodations and modifications
Supervise students during transitions, lunch, breaks, and non-classroom activities
Support Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) and other school-wide behavior systems
Maintain a safe, respectful, inclusive, and welcoming educational environment
Collect and document academic and behavioral data
Collaborate with teachers, administrators, support staff, and parents
Maintain confidentiality of student records and sensitive information
Complete necessary paperwork and perform other assigned duties

Requirements

What you’ll need

Arizona IVP fingerprint clearance card required
Maturity and patience required
Ability to support students academically and emotionally
Ability to identify and refer situations to the Principal as needed
Ability to demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness and monitor work quality
Ability to adapt to changes, manage competing student demands, and handle frequent change, delays, or unexpected events
Reliable attendance and punctuality; ability to follow instructions, respond to leadership direction, and accept feedback
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and bend, stoop, reach, and sit as needed
Ability to move quickly to respond to student needs
Ability to physically restrain a student when necessary for safety
Ability to use hands and fingers to handle, feel, or operate objects, tools, or controls
Ability to reach with hands and arms
Ability to sit, talk, and hear frequently
Ability to work in a classroom or school environment
