About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Help participants implement their own service plans and pursue their goals
- Use a personal vehicle to transport individuals to job sites, volunteer opportunities, and social events
- Provide on-the-spot coaching and support to build social skills and workplace confidence
- Use digital tools to track daily activities and progress
- Provide feedback on what is working best for each participant
- Empower adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities to lead independent, social, and fulfilling lives
Requirements
What you’ll need- At least 18 years old
- Genuine desire to work with the intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) community
- Reliable vehicle
- Valid California driver’s license
- Clean driving record
- Auto insurance with policy limits acceptable to VPCI's insurance carrier
- Comfortable lifting up to 50 lbs and staying mobile throughout the day
- Ability to connect well with others and utilize technology for daily organization
- Willingness to work variable hours
- Successful completion of a background check and drug screening
- Completion of I-9, W-4, application, and other standard requirements
