About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Create pixel art game assets according to the approved visual style and references
- Create characters, props, environment elements, and backgrounds
- Create tilesets and modular elements for building game environments
- Follow requirements for color palettes, scale, level of detail, and asset dimensions
- Prepare artwork for integration into the game according to the team’s technical requirements
- Polish assets to final quality based on feedback from the Art Director
- Create frame-by-frame animations for characters, objects, and visual effects
Requirements
What you’ll need- 2+ years of professional experience as a Pixel Artist or in a similar role
- A portfolio showcasing pixel art, preferably created for games
- Strong understanding of form, composition, perspective, color, lighting, and shading
- Ability to create expressive silhouettes and convey volume and materials using a limited number of pixels
- Strong attention to contours, pixel clusters, and limited color palettes
- Ability to maintain a consistent visual style and level of detail across different types of assets
- Proficiency in Aseprite, Photoshop, or a similar tool
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work from briefs and consistently incorporate feedback
- Experience with frame-by-frame animation of characters, objects, and visual effects
