About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Design and architect AWS WorkSpaces environments
- Engineer and support AWS WorkSpaces Personal, Secure Browser, bundles, images, and directories
- Manage AWS infrastructure including VPCs, subnets, DNS, routing, security groups, endpoints, and Directory Service/AD
- Troubleshoot Windows and macOS endpoints and clients
- Implement monitoring and automation using CloudWatch, EventBridge, CloudTrail, Lambda, and scripting
- Engineer the WorkSpaces image lifecycle, including creation, patching, versioning, and deployment automation
- Optimize WorkSpaces costs through billing-mode management, Cost Optimizer, and usage analysis
- Manage ServiceNow ITSM incident, problem, and change workflows
- Lead major incidents and facilitate RCA/PIR/AAR processes
- Lead technical discussions with AWS and internal stakeholders
Requirements
What you’ll need- Senior-level, hands-on AWS WorkSpaces engineering and architecture experience
- Deep AWS EUC knowledge: WorkSpaces Personal, Secure Browser, bundles, images, directories
- Strong AWS infrastructure knowledge: VPC, subnets, DNS, routing, security groups, endpoints, Directory Service/AD
- Windows and macOS endpoint and client troubleshooting
- Monitoring and automation experience with CloudWatch, EventBridge, CloudTrail, Lambda, and scripting
- Image lifecycle engineering: creation, patching, versioning, and deployment automation
- WorkSpaces cost optimization: billing modes, Cost Optimizer, and usage analysis
- ServiceNow ITSM workflows; incident, problem, and change management
- Major incident leadership and RCA/PIR/AAR facilitation
- Strong communication and ability to lead technical discussions with AWS and internal stakeholders
- Work hours overlapping with the US West Coast until 2pm PST
- Preferred: AWS certifications, such as Solutions Architect, SysOps, or Advanced Networking
- Preferred: Multi-platform VDI/DaaS experience, such as Azure Virtual Desktop or Citrix
- Preferred: Experience scaling WorkSpaces fleets and supporting large migrations involving 1,000+ workspaces
- Preferred: Experience standing up governance and lifecycle automation from scratch
