About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Overall responsibility for development and production projects in the fields of guided weapons, warheads, and communication systems, with regard to cost, schedule, and quality
Leadership of interdisciplinary project teams comprising systems engineering, propulsion, sensors, electronics, warheads, integration, and production
Translating military customer requirements into technical specifications and project plans
Requirements management through to production release (idea to offer)
Managing development, qualification, and acceptance testing, including live-fire trials as well as environmental and stress testing
Budget planning, forecasting, and resource management
Identification, assessment, and management of technical and regulatory risks
Coordination of subcontractors and international partners
Ensuring compliance with security, export control, and certification requirements
Contract, claim, and change management
Reporting to executive management, customers, and authorities

Requirements

What you’ll need

Completed degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, electrical engineering, physics, or a comparable field
Several years of experience in managing complex technical systems projects, ideally in the defense sector
Knowledge of guided missile, warhead, or weapons system technology is an advantage
Experience working with military specifications and regulatory requirements
Knowledge of the applicable MIL standards and specifications, including MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-464, MIL-STD-882, MIL-HDBK-217, MIL-STD-785, MIL-STD-883, MIL-STD-202, MIL-STD-1553, MIL-STD-1472, MIL-STD-129, and MIL-STD-498
Strong project management skills; IPMA, PMI, or PRINCE2 certification is an advantage
Fluent German and English, including strong negotiation skills
Willingness to travel
Eligibility to undergo security clearance
Knowledge of MS Office, MS Project, Primavera P6, Jira, SAP PS, Confluence, IBM DOORS, Polarion, Cameo Systems Modeler, Windchill, Teamcenter, FMEA tools, Active Risk Manager, MATLAB/Simulink, ANSYS, LS-DYNA, CATIA/NX, SAP FI/CO, Earned Value Management, MS Teams, and SharePoint
