About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Analyze, develop, and execute written and visual communication content related to suicide prevention, intervention, and postvention
- Design creative messaging products, resources, and campaigns
- Promote suicide prevention efforts and increase audience/user adoption of tools and resources
- Develop solutions to problems of moderate scope and complexity
- Work independently with some guidance
- Develop and execute strategic communication plans to enhance visibility, audience relevance, and engagement
- Create communication materials including fact sheets, one-pagers, and PowerPoint presentations
- Lead strategic communications plans and provide fresh interpretations for communicating with stakeholders
- Support communications for military, federal, and public-sector audiences
Requirements
What you’ll need- Master’s degree in Communications, Marketing, or a related technical field
- 7+ years of directly related experience
- 10+ years total work experience
- 7+ years of experience in strategic communications, public affairs, or marketing
- Experience designing and developing content for creative media campaigns and “storytelling” products
- Expert in developing communication materials such as fact sheets, one-pagers, and PowerPoint presentations
- Experience leading strategic communications plans from a strategy lens
- Experience with graphic design, including proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint
- Ability to develop and execute strategic communication plans
- Ability to provide clear verbal and written communications to internal and external stakeholders in alignment with DoW style expectations
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to obtain a security clearance
- U.S. citizenship required
- Experience working in a military environment or with military personnel preferred
- Experience in a DoW or government public affairs shop creating communication materials for military audiences preferred
- Experience with messaging around organizational transformation, workforce development/training, or public health/science communication preferred
- Experience tracking, measuring, and analyzing communication effectiveness preferred
- Ability to convey messages accurately in a fast-paced environment preferred
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and attention to detail preferred
- Social media planning, event coordination, and stakeholder outreach communications experience preferred
- Experience in website redesign preferred
- Experience in Adobe InDesign or Illustrator preferred
