About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Build and maintain backend services and HTTP APIs in Python with FastAPI
Build interactive server-rendered HTML interfaces using Jinja templates, HTMX, Alpine, and Tailwind
Add LLM features through the existing model layer, including prompts, structured output, failure cases, and evaluations
Use an AI coding tool daily and review generated code before committing
Design PostgreSQL tables and queries for performance
Move slow or multi-step work to background workers using Temporal
Work directly with founders and product teams
Take tickets from written specification through merged implementation
Raise concerns early about scope, risk, and alternative approaches

Requirements

What you’ll need

3–5 years of professional experience in full-stack or backend-leaning web development
Strong Python and FastAPI background
Solid JavaScript, HTML and CSS
Experience building dynamic interfaces without a React-style frontend
Experience using an LLM inside a product or personal workflow
Experience using an AI coding assistant and reviewing generated code for correctness and security
Experience with Linear or another issue tracker
Understanding of HTTP APIs, sessions, and multi-tenant web application data isolation
Comfort with Git, including branches, pull requests, and reading diffs
English at B2 level or better
Ability to work remotely, own tickets, and ship independently
Nice to have: HTMX, Alpine.js, Svelte, Temporal, Celery, Airflow, Prefect, Claude API or other model provider APIs
Nice to have: early-stage or greenfield product experience
