About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Serve as the backend technical reference (Java / Spring Boot) in the evolution of payment platforms
Technically lead end-to-end initiatives: discovery, design, development, and support of backend services
Design and implement REST APIs and distributed services (microservices) for high-scale transaction environments
Ensure the quality, performance, scalability, and security of backend applications
Ensure idempotency, resilience, consistency, and low latency
Define and implement technical standards, best practices, and Spring Boot-based frameworks
Evolve and maintain event-driven architectures and messaging integrations
Define automated backend testing strategies, including unit, integration, and contract testing
Implement and enhance observability practices, including logs, metrics, tracing, and alerts
Work collaboratively with product, architecture, and operations teams
Support technical decisions and promote backend engineering best practices
Take a hands-on role in developing and enhancing critical services

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor's degree in technology-related fields (or equivalent)
Solid experience in backend development with Java (Spring Boot)
Strong experience building REST APIs and microservices
Knowledge of distributed systems architecture, high availability, and resilience
Experience with messaging and event platforms such as Kafka and RabbitMQ
Experience with containers (Docker) and Kubernetes
Experience with relational and non-relational databases and domain-driven modeling
Experience with automated testing and backend quality strategies
Experience with CI/CD, deployment automation, and DevOps culture
Experience with observability, including monitoring, metrics, and logging
Experience in business-critical, high-volume transaction environments
Ability to translate complex business rules into robust technical solutions
Hands-on mindset, technical autonomy, and ability to serve as a team reference
Preferred: experience with payment platforms or financial systems
Preferred: knowledge of event-driven architecture and high-scale processing
Preferred: experience with public or hybrid cloud
Preferred: knowledge of TM Forum standards
Preferred: experience applying AI to engineering, such as automation, copilots, and RAG
