About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Analyze and handle low- and medium-complexity criminal cases
  • Provide legal support to the Corporate Investigations Management team
  • Guide internal investigations and assess their legal implications
  • Develop strategies for holding parties liable for unlawful acts, asset recovery, damages claims, and protection of the company’s reputation
  • Monitor investigative measures, police proceedings, and court proceedings
  • Prepare legal opinions, technical reports, executive presentations, notices, contract drafts, and other legal documents
  • Research legislation, legal scholarship, case law, and legal theories
  • Advise internal departments on incidents and legal matters
  • Participate in hearings, interviews, and meetings with authorities and public agencies
  • Improve the department’s workflows, processes, controls, and strategies
  • Monitor and control matters handled by the legal team
  • Register, monitor, and update assigned cases
  • Manage the hearing schedule and required actions
  • Draft responses to official letters and requests of low and medium complexity
  • Update metrics, management controls, and reports
  • Control expenses, billing, and outsourced law firms
  • Liaise with external law firms and monitor cases handled on behalf of the company

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Law
  • Active registration with the Brazilian Bar Association (OAB)
  • Prior experience or exposure to Criminal Law, Criminal Procedure, corporate investigations, or related areas
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Outlook)
  • Excellent legal writing and technical document preparation skills
  • Postgraduate degree in Criminal Law, Criminal Procedure, Digital Law, or related areas (a plus)
  • Experience in corporate legal departments, compliance, internal investigations, or corporate intelligence (a plus)
  • Experience dealing with law enforcement authorities and public agencies (a plus)
