About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Oversee Israeli accounting operations
- Directly manage and support the Israeli Staff Accountant
- Review accounts payable, payroll, journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, corporate allocations, equity, and other close activities
- Investigate discrepancies and ensure corrections are completed
- Document critical processes and cover essential activities during absences or transitions
- Coordinate with external accounting, payroll, audit, and tax providers
- Improve close procedures and financial controls
- Maintain and update the financial model, including actual results, forecasts, assumptions, and supporting schedules
- Own financial planning and forecasting for R&D, including headcount planning, operating expenses, and long-range planning
- Analyze actual results against budget and forecast and communicate business-driver explanations
- Manage quarterly reviews of Product P&Ls
- Own analysis and management of AWS cloud spend, including cost-driver and usage-trend analysis and cost optimization recommendations
- Prepare internal and external investor reporting
- Collaborate with U.S. finance leadership and teams across Israel and the U.S.
- Maintain recurring-responsibility calendars, meet deadlines, flag risks, and improve processes
Requirements
What you’ll need- Demonstrated experience in both accounting operations and financial planning and analysis
- Strong practical accounting knowledge and experience reviewing close activities, AP, payroll, journal entries, and balance sheet reconciliations
- Experience with Israeli accounting and payroll processes and coordinating with local external advisers
- Advanced Excel and Google Sheets skills, including maintaining financial models, troubleshooting formulas, and reconciling data across sources
- Experience preparing budgets, forecasts, management reporting, and variance analyses
- Ability to support and develop a Staff Accountant through detailed review, clear feedback, and hands-on problem-solving
- Strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and reliable follow-through
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Hebrew
- Israeli CPA qualification preferred
- Experience in a technology or SaaS company preferred
- Experience supporting a global finance team and preparing investor reporting preferred
