Key responsibilities & impact

Contribute to the design, development, testing, and delivery of scalable, secure, user-centered software solutions
Develop and maintain applications, services, APIs, and user interfaces under experienced engineers’ guidance
Translate requirements and designs into clean, maintainable, testable software
Contribute to backend services using Java, Spring Boot, or comparable technologies
Contribute to web applications using React, TypeScript, or comparable frontend technologies
Develop and consume REST APIs and support event-driven integrations
Work with PostgreSQL and apply basic data modeling and query development practices
Write and maintain unit, integration, API, and end-to-end tests
Participate in debugging, code reviews, technical discussions, refinement, demonstrations, and continuous improvement
Contribute to application security, accessibility, observability, performance, and operational readiness
Use AI-assisted development tools responsibly and validate generated code
Follow repository guidance, coding standards, testing expectations, technical documentation, and Software Factory workflow
Collaborate with product managers, business stakeholders, architects, data scientists, and teammates

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience
Zero to two years of professional software engineering experience, including internships, co-ops, or relevant project experience
Foundational knowledge of software development principles, object-oriented programming, data structures, and algorithms
Experience with Java or another object-oriented programming language
Familiarity with React, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML, or CSS
Familiarity with REST APIs, relational databases, and source-control systems such as Git
Understanding of software testing and maintainable, reliable code
Familiarity with basic application security and secure coding practices
Ability to work effectively with product, architecture, data, quality engineering, and business stakeholders
Ability to deliver work incrementally through small, independently testable units
Demonstrated ownership, accountability, integrity, and commitment to high-quality work
Commitment to collaboration, customer focus, inclusion, and engineering excellence
