About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Serve as the strategic driver of revenue and growth for Vizient’s Spend Management business across Clinical, Non-Clinical, and P2P/Integrated SC Services
  • Identify penetration opportunities and shape high-value spend management solutions for complex members
  • Guide solution design, category strategy alignment, and comprehensive engagement planning as the spend management subject matter expert
  • Assess clinical value and operational and strategic challenges to craft data-driven recommendations
  • Manage deal risks, pricing strategy, and solution viability to protect profitability and margin performance
  • Build trusted advisor relationships with Spend Executives, Engagement Leads, and Enterprise Principals
  • Partner with account teams, category subject matter experts, and consulting leaders to align resources and delivery
  • Identify and execute upsell and cross-sell opportunities
  • Analyze bookings, revenue trends, and performance metrics to inform decisions and forecast outcomes
  • Monitor spend management pipeline performance and opportunity progression
  • Improve sales processes in CRM staging to remove roadblocks and accelerate deal closure
  • Maintain accountability for growth, profitability, and sales targets

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, or related field desired (not required)
  • Advanced degree (MBA, MHA, MPH, or equivalent) preferred (not required)
  • 15 or more years of progressive experience in healthcare business development, consulting, or technology-enabled services
  • Proven success creating integrated, multi-component solutions combining services, analytics, and technology
  • Demonstrated expertise in healthcare spend management with non-labor expense reduction and/or service line expertise
  • Deep understanding of the healthcare ecosystem, including providers, payers, and supply chain operations
  • Experience leading business development components of client engagements with health system executives and clinicians
  • Strong consultative and strategic mindset
  • Skilled in solution architecture, business case development, and ROI storytelling
  • Exceptional communication, leadership, and collaboration skills
  • Ability to work in team-oriented, matrixed environments
  • Ability to travel regularly and expeditiously throughout the year to meet clients’ needs and timetables
  • Candidates living in the mid-Atlantic region of the US are preferred
