About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Control the disamatic, ductile iron molding and pouring operation using the Disamatic Molding Machine, Sand Muller and Hartley Control System
- Ensure correct patterns, date codes and core masks are installed on Disa
- Check and regulate Disamatic pressure and molding settings
- Interpret Hartley and Disa sampling results and adjust muller settings, bond and water to produce proper sand
- Control tap size and fade-out time according to the job
- Communicate with the Melt Leadman and Iron Delivery Driver to control taps per hour
- Control start and stop of Disa support equipment, including belts, shakers and dust collectors
- Notify maintenance and/or Leadman promptly in the event of a breakdown
- Maintain a clean and safe work area
- Adhere to Nortrak’s Safety, Quality and Environmental Procedures, Practices and Policies
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School graduate or GED preferred
- Forklift and Crane certification preferred
- Ability to read work orders, ITP’s, blue prints, rulers and tape measures
- Experience with measuring tools preferred
- Basic mathematical calculation experience in adding and subtracting whole numbers, fractions and decimals
- Frequent standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, climbing, and pushing, pulling, or lifting objects
- Use hands and arms to operate tools, handle materials, and reach for the duration of the scheduled shift
- Regularly lift and carry 30–35 pounds; occasionally lift up to 50 pounds
- Required close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment
- Hearing abilities necessary to perform job tasks safely and effectively
