About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Coordinate and support HR activities across the employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, training management, and offboarding
- Coordinate safety initiatives and maintain safety records
- Promote the company’s safety culture
- Maintain accurate HR and safety records according to specified guidelines
- Maintain employee HR data accurately in the HRIS system
- Process payroll, benefits, attendance program data entry, and compliance activities accurately and on time
- Coordinate the employee review process according to required timelines
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA, FMLA, OSHA, and applicable employment law
- Exercise cost control in assigned purchasing decisions
- Liaise with vendors and employees regarding disability claims administration
- Support employee relations through administration of employee programs and policies
- Plan and coordinate company and employee events
- Answer employee questions about policies and benefits
- Coordinate training and safety activities, including scheduling, special events, and record keeping
- Adhere to Nortrak’s environmental procedures, practices, and policies
- Lead recruitment and selection processes for open positions
- Support onboarding for new employees and help managers and supervisors effectively use onboarding tools
- Complete exit interviews and process terminations according to company policies and procedures
Requirements
What you’ll need- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in human resources or other related fields is preferred
- 3 to 5 years of relevant HR experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and time management skills
- Experience in administering and communicating benefit programs
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Experience with ADP HRIS and Kronos software is preferred
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Ability to remain stationary for extended periods and move throughout the building to access files
- Ability to work effectively in a noisy environment
- Ability to lift and move equipment or objects up to 20–25 pounds occasionally
- Visual requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
- Occasional travel required, including walking, standing, sitting, and driving for varying durations
- Frequent use of hands and arms for dialing phones and using a computer mouse
