About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Ensure implementation and execution of the Quality Management System (QMS)
Verify products are produced in accordance with product realization design
Perform quality functions safely and encourage safety on the plant floor
Ensure outside visitors comply with Nortrak safety practices and requirements
Perform inspections to ensure product realization processes meet applicable specifications and standards
Perform internal process audits to verify QMS effectiveness
Maintain and control quality records for product verification, measuring equipment calibration and material certification
Inspect, test and measure finishing materials
Ensure operations and production follow company standards
Ensure compliance with Nortrak’s QMS
Perform duties supporting customer delivery commitments and file quality records promptly
Implement Non-conformance and Gauge Control Programs
Review plant processes and recommend material and process improvements
Promote quality products and help train employees to avoid non-conforming products
Liaise with customer inspectors
Report directly to the Manager, QA
Adhere to Nortrak’s environmental procedures, practices and policies
Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need

Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or other suitable discipline
Vocational technical training in quality assurance related field is preferred
1 to 3 years’ related experience in inspection, or at least 2 years’ experience within Nortrak employment
Knowledge in using a variety of industry tools for calibration purposes
Experience inspecting, testing, or measuring materials or products being produced
Knowledge of reading blueprints and specifications
Knowledge of monitoring operations to ensure production standards
Knowledge of assembly or production processes
Sound knowledge of MS Office standard, MS Projects and special programs (i.e.: MS Visio, MS SharePoint)
Ability to lift or handle up to 25 pounds at times
Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
Occasional travel may be required
Must comply with Nortrak safety practices, environmental procedures, practices and policies
