About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Keep yard and other storage locations in order
- Ship, receive, load, and unload trucks
- Transport product between buildings
- Keep shipping areas organized, clean, and free of clutter; maintain clear aisles
- Load and unload trucks by forklift
- Verify shipment accuracy, including part numbers, serial numbers, quantities, and weights
- Pick orders by referencing Plant Backlog
- Move incoming material to designated departments or warehouse locations
- Perform assigned duties such as sweeping, emptying trash, breaking down cardboard, sorting skids, and repackaging or staging material for shipment
- Organize and store or dispose of barrels, skids, and other items cluttering the building exterior
- Pull and store finished goods and maintain finished goods
- Comply with company safety policies and procedures
- Adhere to Nortrak’s Environmental, Safety and Quality Procedures, Practices and Policies
- Report directly to the Department Supervisor
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School graduate or GED preferred
- One to three months related experience or training
- Equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to read work orders and blueprints preferred
- Experience with measuring tools preferred
- Basic mathematical calculation experience in adding and subtracting whole numbers, fractions and decimals
- Ability to effectively communicate with office staff, management and supervisors
- Ability to multitask
- Flexibility with work schedule when necessary
- Organization, communication and problem solving skills
- Must be certified, or have the ability to be certified, to operate a fork lift
- Must have a valid Illinois driver’s license
- Must be insurable under company's insurance
- Ability to meet frequent standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, climbing, pushing, pulling, and lifting demands
- Regularly lift and carry 30–35 pounds; occasionally lift up to 50 pounds
- Required close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment
- Hearing abilities necessary to perform job tasks safely and effectively
