About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Participate in requirement-gathering sessions with product teams and assess technical feasibility of features and integrations, including AI-enabled capabilities
Own design and solutioning for assigned sprint modules
Drive technical design sessions and peer reviews
Deliver robust and secure payment solutions aligned with ISO 20022, SWIFT, SEPA, and other payment formats
Ensure AI usage adheres to security, data governance, and compliance requirements
Ensure code quality through code reviews, static analysis, test-driven development, and AI-assisted code generation, refactoring, and test creation
Collaborate with QA and DevOps on CI/CD and release processes
Investigate production issues and perform root-cause analysis for defects and escalations
Improve systems through innovation, refactoring, emerging technologies, and practical AI/LLM-based solutions

Requirements

What you’ll need

8-12 years of experience in Java/JEE development
Expertise in Core Java, Java EE (8+), multithreading, memory management, and performance tuning
Strong proficiency in Spring ecosystem (Spring Boot, Data, Security)
Experience with IBM MQ, RabbitMQ, and Apache Kafka in secure, high-availability environments
Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL, Oracle, DB2, MongoDB, SSL/TLS, and secure data flows
Skilled in Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Prometheus, Grafana, and Dynatrace
Deep understanding of ISO 20022, SWIFT, MT/MX messages, SEPA, NACHA, RTGS, real-time and cross-border payment flows
Compliance and security expertise
Experience in banking/fintech implementations, reconciliation, settlement, and reference data management
Comfortable using AI/LLM tools such as GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude, or similar
Ability to quickly understand, learn, and implement new technologies, including AI/LLM-based solutions, in production systems
Experience with APIs for real-time and batch payment processing is desirable
Experience with mutual TLS and client certificate management is desirable
Experience developing adapters or extensions for VolPay or similar integration platforms is desirable
Knowledge of PaaS platforms such as AWS MSK, Azure Service Bus, or Red Hat OpenShift is desirable
Previous contributions to open-source projects or developer communities are desirable
Sun/Oracle Certified Java Programmer/Developer is a plus
Basic exposure to LLM APIs or AI frameworks such as Spring AI or LangChain4j is a plus, but not mandatory
