About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Apply machine learning and deep learning to automotive applications
- Develop applications for autonomous driving, manufacturing, material design, and related areas
- Maintain, enhance, and extend existing machine learning modules
- Design and implement new machine-learning approaches using existing frameworks
- Keep current with academic research and industry technology
- Transfer technologies and solutions to the Volkswagen Group
- Integrate new software modules into the framework
- Test modules through unit, integration, in-vehicle, and field tests
- Analyze and evaluate test results
- Develop technical specifications and documentation

Requirements
What you’ll need- 5+ years related work experience or equivalent combination of education and related work experience
- Master’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent
- Experience in the development of software and software architectures
- Strong communication skills and ability to explain complex technical topics to non-experts
- Collaboration and integration skills
- Ability to work in a dynamic, multidisciplinary, timeline- and target-oriented environment
- Problem-solving skills
- Analytical skills
- Conceptual thinking skills
- PhD desired
