About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Own work end to end: clarify requirements, design the approach, build, test, deploy, and follow through in production
Build and ship backend features, fixes, and REST APIs for the charging platform
Work with frontend teammates on features spanning the stack
Write unit and integration tests and help increase platform test coverage
Maintain code quality and meet team quality gates
Review code and grow through feedback
Raise blockers early and work across teams to keep delivery moving
Participate in sprint planning, standups, and retrospectives

Requirements

What you’ll need

5+ years of backend software development experience
Strong, hands-on experience with Java 17 or 21 and modern features such as records, sealed classes, pattern matching, or virtual threads
Production experience with Spring Boot 3+ building services and REST APIs
Experience with JUnit 5, Mockito, and Spring Boot test slices (@WebMvcTest, @DataJpaTest, @DataMongoTest)
Experience with SonarQube or similar static analysis tools
Exposure to Postgres and/or MongoDB
Working knowledge of Next.js; comfortable reading, debugging, and modifying a Next.js codebase
Experience with REST API development
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
Standard working hours with occasional after-hours support as needed
Ability to travel domestically up to 5–10%
Proficiency in Java
A strong sense of ownership and curiosity about new domains and tools
