About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Implement communications strategies promoting VOACC's fundraising campaigns, events, and donor engagement
- Manage VOACC's monthly e-newsletter and social media presence for donors and stakeholders
- Collaborate with external vendors to create digital and printed marketing collateral
- Manage and publish accurate, up-to-date, engaging website content
- Analyze media markets to identify reporters and influencers for outreach
- Coordinate logistics planning for projects and events
- Liaise with program staff to gather and write consumer impact stories
- Measure and report communications effectiveness, engagement levels, and progress
- Occasionally capture video and photography of consumers and staff
- Craft press releases and other articles as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree, preferably in Communications or Marketing
- 1 - 3 years of experience working in a professional office setting, preferably at nonprofit
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365, Adobe Suite and Wordpress
- Strong writing, editing and proofing skills
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Experience with graphic design preferred
- Experience capturing and editing video preferred
- Strong interpersonal skills with an outgoing and open personal style
- Ability to travel when necessary to interview program consumers and staff for testimonials
- Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle to transport oneself, consumers, and program supplies as necessary
- Physical ability to travel to assigned locations, stand, stoop, bend, reach, pull, push, lift, grasp, climb, talk, see, hear and perform basic and light home maintenance activities, and operate office equipment
- Ability to operate office equipment requiring continuous or repetitive hand/arm movements
- Ability to remain in a sitting position for extended periods of time
