About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Administration, enhancement, and monitoring of database environments for production, testing, and development
- Setting up and ongoing maintenance of reliable backup and restore solutions
- Installation, configuration, and maintenance of the underlying operating systems, primarily Linux
- Building and customizing new systems
- Ensuring system stability, security, and performance
- Monitoring the entire system landscape
- Collaborating with the team and actively contributing to the development of shared solutions
Requirements
What you’ll need- Several years of experience administering PostgreSQL databases
- Experience with EDB (EnterpriseDB) is preferred
- Experience designing, implementing, and operating reliable database backup and recovery strategies
- Experience optimizing database performance in an enterprise environment
- Skilled in troubleshooting and debugging
- Experience with load balancing and connection pooling for PostgreSQL, for example using HAProxy or PgBouncer
- Excellent Linux administration skills, particularly with Red Hat and Ubuntu
- Fluent German (C-level proficiency)
- English proficiency
- EU citizenship (MUST HAVE)
- Willingness to work on-site at least 3 days per week
