About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Oversee and steward Vote Mama's comprehensive, multi-year fundraising strategy across the PAC, Foundation, and Lobby
Translate organizational priorities into ambitious but achievable revenue goals
Activate the CEO, COO, and Board of Directors to pursue fundraising opportunities
Design and execute a multi-million-dollar political finance strategy
Expand Vote Mama's national donor base and candidate support capacity
Develop funding strategies for research and advocacy programs
Scale a strategic, long-term, major-gifts-focused fundraising model
Oversee prospecting to acquire new donors across entities and revenue streams
Personally manage a portfolio of major individual and high-net-worth political donors
Cultivate and manage donor relationships with the CEO
Oversee portfolio management and pipeline-building across the development team
Diversify institutional funding and steward major funders
Lead the Mama Fund political giving circles program and fundraising events
Guide donor communications and fundraising materials
Supervise the Senior Director of the Mamas Network and Development Operations Director
Mentor direct reports and conduct performance reviews
Participate in team, project, all-staff, and leadership meetings
Uphold fundraising infrastructure, systems, processes, data integrity, and Salesforce CRM operations
Guide gift processing, acknowledgments, event production, and compliance reporting
Manage administrative responsibilities, expenses, and timesheets
Pursue professional growth and stay informed about industry trends and best practices

Requirements

What you’ll need

8+ years of political fundraising experience
At least two cycles on campaigns and in supervisory roles
At least one cycle as a Finance Director
Demonstrated experience creating and executing a multi-million-dollar finance plan
Robust experience managing high-performing staff and consultants
Experience driving donor engagement at the national level
Demonstrated success building, maintaining, and expanding a national network of major political donors
Experience with varied fundraising strategies, including call time, events, HNW individuals, and digital
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Demonstrated success in team leadership and management
Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and on multiple tasks simultaneously
Strong applied computer skills
Deep understanding of CRMs, including Salesforce and NGP
Thorough understanding of, respect for, and adherence to professional and financial ethics
Ability to travel as needed for Vote Mama events
Reliable internet access
Preferred: Experience managing fundraising across 501(c)(4), hybrid PAC, and 501(c)(3) organizations
Preferred: Experience building donor portfolios for start-ups or growing organizations
Preferred: Experience managing fundraising events
Preferred: Experience working with remote employees in a fully remote environment
Preferred: Successful experience managing budgets
