About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Own headcount tracking and budget versus actual reporting
- Produce monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting for internal management, the Board of Directors, investors, and other applicable third parties
- Support the annual budget build and ongoing forecast updates, including targets supporting business operations decisions
- Support monthly close deliverables, including accrual calculations and analysis and vendor coding questions
- Calculate and process monthly partnership payouts
- Contribute to cost-to-serve and LTV methodology and calculations
- Deliver weekly budget versus actual readouts to the business
- Meet with business partners across the company to explain monthly results and translate findings into forecast updates
- Report directly to the Head of Finance
- Provide financial reporting for internal executive leadership and external audiences, including the Board of Directors
Requirements
What you’ll need- 4+ years of experience in financial analysis, FP&A, or an accounting role requiring transactional analysis
- Ability to pinpoint variances in actual versus budget results, even when the driver is not yet known
- Comfortable owning basic accrual accounting and the analysis behind it
- Experience building a bottoms-up opex budget
- Ability to own analysis and present it to business partners
- Ability to communicate financial results clearly to non-finance audiences
- Comfortable working in a fast-moving environment where reporting categories can change
- Exposure to and passion for early-stage startups and/or high-growth environments (nice to have)
- Background in insurance or other regulated categories (nice to have)
