About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead and support systems engineering activities for solid rocket propulsion systems from concept development through design, integration, test, qualification, production, and sustainment
  • Prepare and present systems engineering artifacts, technical analyses, requirements documentation, verification evidence, design review materials, and recommendations
  • Support propulsion development and test activities by defining system-level objectives, reviewing test plans and data, evaluating results, and supporting anomaly investigations and root-cause analysis
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams to resolve technical issues, manage interfaces, identify risks, and support integrated design decisions
  • Support system architecture development, technical trade studies, configuration management, and engineering baselines
  • Develop verification and validation strategies, plans, methods, and matrices
  • Define and manage interfaces between propulsion systems, vehicles, structures, avionics, ground support equipment, test systems, and other subsystems
  • Develop, decompose, allocate, and maintain system and subsystem requirements with lifecycle traceability
  • Report to the applicable Engineering Manager within the Engineering organization

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field with 4–15 years of relevant aerospace, propulsion, or systems engineering experience; a Master’s degree may be substituted for up to two years of experience; additional relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
  • Experience applying systems engineering principles to complex aerospace hardware, propulsion systems, or other integrated technical products
  • Familiarity with systems engineering tools and methodologies, including requirements management and model-based systems engineering (MBSE) concepts
  • Experience supporting solid rocket motors or solid propulsion systems, including motor performance, propulsion subsystem interfaces, development, test, qualification, or production support
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance
  • Ability to work with controlled technical data and comply with applicable safety, quality, export control, and government requirements
  • Travel up to 10%, including possible overnight travel
  • Must be a U.S. Person under ITAR/EAR regulations: U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, or protected individual
  • Eligibility to obtain required export authorizations
  • Ability to work in office, laboratory, integration, test, and operational environments as required
