About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop Class A surfaces for all visible areas of a vehicle—exterior, interior, and lighting—using ICEM Surf software
- Apply knowledge of stamping, plastic injection molding, and other automotive development processes
- Ensure Class A surfaces meet quality standards, VWAG internal guidelines, and predefined deadlines
- Present surfaces to senior management at VWB and Volkswagen AG headquarters for approval
- Implement changes and corrections requested during approval reviews
- Adhere to predefined hard points and realign the work with all technical areas
- Coordinate activities with suppliers approved by the department
- Send data, monitor activities, and hold weekly meetings with suppliers and Strak employees
- Provide guidance on corrections and present corrected data to the Strak team
Requirements
What you’ll need- Degree in Automotive Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Product Technology, Production Process Technology, or Product Design
- Ability to work with surface quality
- Proficiency in ICEM Surf is required
- Experience with digital Class A surface modeling
- At least 10 years of proven experience preferred
- Advanced or fluent English preferred
- Expertise in software such as ICEM Surf is an advantage
- Previous experience in the automotive industry, especially in vehicle development
