About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Design, develop, and execute comprehensive functional test plans and test cases for EMR modules and web applications
Perform end-to-end testing across patient records management, clinical workflows, and administrative functions
Conduct regression testing for new features and updates
Identify, document, and track defects with reproduction steps and severity assessments
Collaborate with product managers and developers to understand requirements and define acceptance criteria
Validate data integrity across EMR modules and integrated third-party systems
Design and execute load testing scenarios under various user loads
Identify performance bottlenecks and provide optimization recommendations
Establish performance baselines and success metrics
Conduct stress, spike, and endurance testing of critical system components
Generate performance reports with detailed analysis and business impact assessments
Monitor and validate performance improvements
Develop and maintain test automation frameworks and best practices
Mentor junior QA engineers and provide technical guidance
Establish QA standards, processes, and quality metrics
Partner with development and product teams to shift left and improve quality throughout the development lifecycle
Lead test automation initiatives and improve test coverage strategies
Conduct quality assessments and audits of testing processes
Collaborate with developers, product managers, and clinical stakeholders
Communicate test results, blockers, and quality metrics to leadership
Document test procedures, results, and recommendations
Participate in design reviews and requirements analysis sessions
Support production issue investigations and post-mortems

Requirements

What you’ll need

7+ years of professional QA experience, with at least 3 years in a staff or lead QA role
Proven expertise in functional testing methodologies and best practices
Demonstrated experience with load testing tools (e.g., JMeter, LoadRunner, Gatling, or equivalent)
Strong understanding of EMR systems, healthcare workflows, and HIPAA compliance requirements
Experience testing web applications, including REST APIs, responsive design, and cross-browser compatibility
Proficiency in test automation frameworks and programming languages such as Java, Python, or JavaScript
Experience with automation tools such as Selenium, Cypress, or Appium
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies
Experience with version control systems such as Git and CI/CD pipelines
Knowledge of SQL and database concepts
