About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop and maintain 3D substation models using Autodesk Inventor
- Interpret 2D drawings and LiDAR/point cloud data to produce precise 3D geometry for greenfield and brownfield substation designs
- Partner with engineers to ensure models align with project scope, client standards, and constructability requirements
- Organize and maintain drawing files according to Wade Trim CAD/drafting standards
- Assist in preparing plan sheets, details, and visualizations for design deliverables
- Maintain a safe working environment
- Build and maintain precise 3D models for electrical substation projects
Requirements
What you’ll need- High school diploma required
- 0 to 2 years of related experience required
- Comfort working in a 3D modeling environment
- Experience with 3D modeling software such as Autodesk Inventor, SolidWorks, Revit, SketchUp, or Fusion 360
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Commitment to accuracy
- Effective communication and collaborative working skills
- Self-motivated and able to work well with others
- Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor 3D preferred
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit, or Civil 3D preferred
- Experience with LiDAR-based workflows or point cloud modeling, such as ReCap Pro, preferred
- Prior exposure to electrical substation or broader utility infrastructure projects preferred
