Key responsibilities & impact

Build and maintain precise 3D models for electrical substation projects
Develop and maintain 3D substation models using Autodesk Inventor
Interpret 2D drawings and LiDAR/point cloud data to produce precise 3D geometry for greenfield and brownfield substation designs
Partner with engineers to ensure models align with project scope, client standards, and constructability requirements
Organize and maintain drawing files according to Wade Trim CAD/drafting standards
Assist in preparing plan sheets, details, and visualizations supporting design deliverables
Maintain a safe working environment

Requirements

What you’ll need

High school diploma required
2 to 5 years of related experience required
Experience working in a 3D modeling environment
Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor 3D
Experience with 3D modeling software such as Inventor, SolidWorks, Revit, SketchUp, or Fusion 360
Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit, or Civil 3D
Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills, with a commitment to accuracy
Ability to communicate effectively while working collaboratively with engineers and designers
Self-motivated and able to work well with others
Experience with LiDAR-based workflows or point cloud modeling (e.g., ReCap Pro) preferred
Prior exposure to electrical substation or broader utility infrastructure projects preferred
Ability to work in a safe manner
