About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Prepare computer-drafted natural gas pipeline designs, as-builts, and mechanical detail drawings
- Reproduce historic pipeline drawings in AutoCAD
- Generate bills of materials
- Print working drawings using a plotter
- Create estimated time requirements for projects
- Attend project-specific meetings to determine CAD schedules
- Save project-specific data daily and weekly
- Complete 811 design requests and coordinate responses to obtain third-party infrastructure
- Verify and organize field visit survey notes
- Assist Project Managers as needed
- Attend meetings as needed
- Maintain excellent client relations
- Maintain a safe working environment
- Join the Industrial Commercial Energy team to improve infrastructure
Requirements
What you’ll need- High school diploma required
- 3+ years of experience in natural gas distribution systems/design, natural gas infrastructure, regulator station design, high pressure steel, compression, and government regulations
- 3 or more years of drafting experience in the natural gas industry
- Experience with Autodesk Civil 3D
- Knowledge of personal computer hardware and software configurations
- Familiarity with AutoCAD 3D required
- Excellent technical writing, organization, and communication skills
- Self-motivated and able to work well with others
- Compression station design experience is a plus
- Horizontal directional drill (HDD) modeling is a plus
- Experience with CadWorx or Autodesk Plant 3D is a plus
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil/Environmental or related field is preferred
