About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Analysis and quality assurance of rainfall and streamflow data
- Preparation of hydrological studies, including intense rainfall, design flows, regionalization, and water availability
- Design of hydraulic structures, including spillway systems, channels, energy dissipators, and drainage systems for dams and waste rock piles
- Development and analysis of hydraulic models
- Hypothetical dam breach studies (dam-break analysis)
- Preparation of water balances for dams and reservoirs
- Participation in dam safety inspections and assessments
- Preparation of technical reports, calculation notes, and engineering documents
- Support in preparing technical and commercial proposals
- Planning and monitoring of activities and schedules
- Technical coordination and mentoring of junior professionals
- Participation in technical meetings with clients and multidisciplinary teams
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, Water Resources, or Hydraulic Engineering, or a related field
- Active registration with CREA, the Brazilian Regional Council of Engineering and Agronomy
- 3 to 6 years of experience in hydrology and hydraulics applied to engineering studies and projects
- Proficiency in HEC-HMS and HEC-RAS (1D and 2D)
- Proficiency in ArcGIS and/or QGIS
- Strong technical writing, analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Willingness to travel and conduct field activities
- Interest in working on multidisciplinary teams and mentoring junior professionals
