About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Coordinate, oversee, communicate, and document activities to establish and maintain consistency in Live Sports and Entertainment Operations
  • Maintain collaborative relationships between WBD Techwood Studios Technical Operations, Remote Technical Operations, BEST Engineering, and Sports and Entertainment partners
  • Make decisions under pressure and delegate tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Maintain a technical monitoring station during live shows
  • Manage and communicate technical details of all MFP productions
  • Resolve potential production issues and resource conflicts before production
  • Monitor and manage incoming and outgoing video for live MFP productions
  • Participate in pre- and post-show technical meetings
  • Prepare and distribute event-detail documentation to stakeholders
  • Assist with MFP production setup and ensure production plans are followed
  • QC video and audio signals for air
  • Configure and route incoming and outgoing signals
  • Act as the audio and video liaison between site and PCR operations
  • Troubleshoot technical issues and communicate with appropriate teams
  • Work with onsite operators to fax off-site equipment
  • Manage network VLANs for production equipment
  • Provide timely, high-level communication about technical issues affecting live productions
  • Collaborate with Studio and Remote Technical Operations, Live Production Engineering, and Operations for smooth technical setup and execution
  • Evaluate future technology for the Remote Operations Center and related areas
  • Assess technical operations methods and recommend changes

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Minimum of 4 years of network-level broadcast production experience for live game, live remote, and/or live studio productions
  • Proficiency in technical planning and documentation for live sports, news, or entertainment productions
  • Experience managing and monitoring video and audio signals for live events
  • Proficiency in video and audio router operations
  • Knowledge of current industry audio and video standards
  • Familiarity with Remote Operations, Production Control Room operations, and technical liaison roles
  • Ability to lead technical meetings and resolve issues proactively
  • Ability to work independently and with small and large teams
  • Flexibility to work non-traditional hours, including weekends and holidays
  • BS/BA degree preferred
  • TD, A1, Engineering, or Technical Manager experience preferred
  • Ability to handle the pressures of live programming and limited time constraints preferred
  • Willingness to travel if required preferred
