About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support day-to-day general accounting and reporting activities
  • Prepare reports for internal and external reporting needs
  • Review participation statements and prepare accrual true-up analyses
  • Review residuals statements and prepare accrual true-up analyses
  • Review capitalized film costs and prepare journal entries
  • Prepare audit and SOX documentation
  • Prepare monthly journal entries and accruals, including capitalized film costs, amortization, hedge gain/loss, cap interest, and impairments
  • Prepare capitalized film cost schedules
  • Prepare participation and residuals liability balance schedules
  • Prepare P&L, footnotes, balance sheet flux, and supplemental schedules
  • Support by-title reporting and film cost accounting
  • Sign off on necessary close requirements
  • Recommend process improvements and standardization
  • Complete other special projects as required

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 3+ years previous work experience in an accounting or finance field
  • Highly motivated, analytical, proactive, and self-sufficient
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to communicate effectively and tactfully with people on all levels, in person, via email or other digital format, and on the telephone
  • Ability to pay close attention to detail and understand written and oral instructions
  • Ability to organize and schedule work effectively
  • Ability to multi-task projects simultaneously and prioritize
  • Ability to adapt in a changing environment, quickly learn new concepts, solve problems, and implement solutions
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office/Excel
  • Must be able to work reasonable overtime, if necessary
  • BA/BS degree in Finance or Accounting required
  • Must be fluent or near fluent in English
  • Experience working with large amounts of data preferred
  • Experience with SAP is a plus
  • Working in shared service and/or outsourcing environment a plus
  • Previous “Big 4” accounting experience preferred
